Hyderabad : A 28-year-old woman died by suicide at her home in Khammam district on Wednesday after learning that her husband had allegedly disappeared after telling relatives he intended to die, leaving their two children without either parent.
Hariprasad and Sunitha had been married for around 15 years and had two children, a son, Manohar, and a daughter, Bhargavi.
Police also said the couple had been having differences for about a week. He conveyed a similar message to the village sarpanch, who alerted the police. Police traced Hariprasad’s mobile phone location to the NSP main canal near V Venkatayapalem. When they reached the spot, they found his autorickshaw, footwear and cellphone near the canal, raising suspicion that he may have jumped into the water. The incident came to light when employees of a private bank visited the couple’s home in connection with an inquiry related to a loan application. The couple had recently constructed a house under the Indiramma housing scheme and had reportedly incurred debts during the process.
Police said that Tejavath Hariprasad, an autorickshaw driver from Ammapalem village of Konijerla mandal, reportedly left his home on Wednesday morning and called his elder brother, Ramamurthy, saying that he was going to die and asking him to take care of his two children.
The details will be known after the investigation,” SI Suraj said. However, Sunitha’s relatives have expressed differing views about the circumstances surrounding her death. “We have registered a case based on the complaint received.
