Heavy rains lash Gujarat, IMD predicts more showers on Saturday
Meghraj taluka in Aravalli recorded 78 mm rainfall, followed by Ahmedabad city with 73 mm between 6 am and 2 pm, according to the State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC). Sabarkantha’s Talod recorded 64 mm rainfall, while Narmada’s Dediapada and Aravalli’s Modasa received 60 mm rain each during the period. In the 24 hours ending at 5 pm on Friday, Morbi district’s Maliya recorded the highest rainfall at 131 mm, followed by Danta taluka in Banaskantha with 91 mm.
“Very heavy rainfall occurred at isolated places in Sabarkantha district of North Gujarat and Morbi district of Saurashtra,” the IMD said in a release issued at 6 pm.
