Protocol lapse lands Bidar DHO, THO in suspension: The wider industry impact

Bidar : Commissioner of health and family welfare services Gurudatt Hegde has suspended Bidar district health and family welfare officer Dr Dhyaneshwar Neeragude and Basavakalyan taluk health officer Dr Ashok Mailare for alleged dereliction of duty and failure to comply with protocol norms.

Both officials were prima facie found negligent in making required arrangements and adhering to government protocol during the groundbreaking ceremony of the sub-divisional hospital building in Basavakalyan taluk, according to the suspension order. Departmental inquiries into allegations of dereliction of duty, negligence and violation of government protocol rules are currently pending against the two officers. To enable them to draw subsistence allowance during the suspension period, Dr Neeragude has been posted to a vacant position at a public hospital in Manvi taluk of Raichur district, while Dr Mailare has been transferred to a vacant post at a public hospital in Afzalpur taluk of Kalaburagi district. The order further stated that neither official can leave their headquarters during the suspension period without prior permission from the competent authority. Download the TOI App.
