The damaged car after it plunged from the Bengaluru-Mysuru national highway flyover
Anjana was seated in the rear seat of the car and was working on her laptop when the vehicle plunged from the flyover and fell into an underpass some 40 feet deep, according to police. Her husband was driving the car when the incident happened on the outskirts of Mandya town around 6 pm, according to the cops. Due to the impact, Anjana suffered severe head injuries and sustained heavy blood loss.
She was thrown out of the vehicle, police said. Despite efforts to rush her to a hospital, she reportedly succumbed to her injuries before reaching the medical facility, police said. The incident has raised concerns over the circumstances leading to the vehicle plunging from the flyover, and further details are awaited after police investigation. Mandya Central police have registered a case and taken up the investigation.
The deceased has been identified as Anjana. She was travelling to Mysuru with her husband Harish , an IT professional. The couple were travelling with their family friend Nitin.
