Police await forensic reports to confirm cause of death — Woman's death

Kochi : Ernakulam Rural Police investigating the death of a 46-year-old woman whose decomposed body was found in the back seat of a parked car said that they have not found evidence of foul play from the initial autopsy findings. The police said that other than the woman having health issues, including cardiac ailments, they couldn’t find evidence of any other injuries in the autopsy. The deceased, Anila Thomas of Palakkad, was a resident of an apartment in Aiswarya Nagar flat complex in Choornikkara. Her body was found in the car owned by another resident in the building. The body was decomposed, and it is suspected that she died at least a few days ago. The police are, however, awaiting other forensic reports, including toxicology reports, before confirming the cause of death. Download the TOI App.
