He said the govt was focusing on better coordination between agriculture and industry to increase farmers’ incomes, strengthen the rural economy and create employment opportunities. “There is immense potential for investment and expansion of industries in food processing, employment generation and providing wider markets to local products,” Maurya said. Under the state’s food processing policy, investors are being offered capital subsidy, interest subsidy and concessions in stamp duty. The department is also expanding mega food parks, cold-chain networks and agro-processing clusters to strengthen the supply chain from farms to markets.
