Pune: A 25-year-old man allegedly bludgeoned his 75-year-old grandmother to death with a water jar on Thursday morning in Charholi. The accused has been arrested under sections 103 ( murder ) and 238 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence, or giving false information to screen offender) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Dighi police said the accused was sleeping when his grandmother woke him up talking loudly. In a fit of rage, he murdered her. The father of the accused lodged a complaint with Dighi police.
Bedridden Woman Assaulted by Sleepy Caregiver
A police officer from Dighi reported an incident involving a bedridden woman who was assaulted on Thursday morning. At approximately 9 a.m., the woman called for help after having an accident in her home. The accused, who was sleeping at the time, became agitated by the noise. He responded by striking her on the head with a water jar and then slammed her head onto the floor. As a result, the woman sustained severe injuries.
Post-Mortem Confirms Murder in Local Incident
A woman was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital after being taken there by the father of the accused. Initially, the accused claimed her death was accidental. However, the post-mortem examination revealed that she had been murdered, changing the nature of the investigation significantly.
