Pune: The anti-terrorism branch (ATB) of Pimpri Chinchwad police on Thursday detained a 19-year-old Bangladeshi woman who was found staying illegally in a lodge in Dehu Road.

“During verification, police found that the Aadhaar card in her possession was fake,” an officer from Pimpri Chinchwad police said. “The Foreigners Registration Office (FRO) has started the process of deporting her to Bangladesh,” the officer said. Acting on a tip-off, an ATB team searched the lodge and found the woman. She initially claimed to be from West Bengal and also furnished an Aadhaar card. The woman was handed over to Dehu Road police for further investigation.
