NEW DELHI: ABVP’s Yash Dabas was elected president of the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU), while independent candidate Deepanshu Shokeen won the vice-president’s post as results for the four central panel positions were announced on Saturday.

The vice-president’s post went to independent candidate Deepanshu Shokeen, who emerged as the highest vote-getter among the four central panel winners with 30,615 votes. The results give ABVP three of the four central panel posts, with the organisation winning the president, secretary and joint-secretary positions. The vice-president’s post went to independent candidate Shokeen. The DUSU central panel comprises the posts of president, vice-president, secretary and joint secretary. With the presidential, secretary and joint-secretary wins, ABVP retained a strong presence across the DUSU central panel, while Shokeen’s victory marked an independent candidate’s win in the vice-president’s contest.
