Hyderabad: The experts at the 25th CII Energy Efficiency Summit 2026 on Friday stressed the need for stronger cooperation between govts, industries and institutions to accelerate the adoption of cleaner technologies and improve energy efficiency across the country.
There is an urgent need of adopting an integrated approach to address the growing economic and environmental consequences of climate change, they said. Experts said the adoption of energy-efficient technologies could help MSMEs reduce operating costs, improve productivity and competitiveness, create jobs and lower greenhouse-gas emissions. Recording El Nino related weather patterns, rising temperatures, heatwaves, floods in some regions and severe droughts in others are increasing pressure on economies and natural resources, underscoring the need for greater climate resilience, they added. Sectors such as textiles, printing, pharmaceuticals and granite processing were identified as having significant potential for energy savings.
