Smoke and flames rise from King Khalid Airport, after Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthis said they attacked the airport, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
A November 4 report by Hindustan Times put the number of Indians killed in the conflict since February at 24, including 15 seafarers. The latest death also comes amid a rising toll among Indians caught up in the wider West Asia conflict.
The embassy said it had remained in contact with the family throughout the treatment and would help arrange the repatriation of the mortal remains to India or a funeral in Riyadh, as the family wishes. The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, had been critically injured and was being treated in an intensive care unit (ICU).
The death toll from the October 10 attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh has risen to 14 after a second Indian national injured in the strike died in hospital, the Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia said on Wednesday.
