Pocso arrest
In the first case, Lourdes Chakravarthy, of Nadveerapattu, who worked as a library officer at a private school in Kancheepuram district, was arrested after a student told her parents that he had sexually assaulted her on campus. In the second case, Jayachandran , of Saidapet, sexually assaulted a minor girl while drunk, police said. The parents complained to the headmaster and assaulted Chakravarthy. Somangalam police and the Singaperumal Koil Special Task Force took him into custody. He was handed over to the Guduvanchery All Women Police Station and remanded in judicial custody. On hearing the girl’s screams, residents nearby confronted and assaulted Jayachandran before handing him over to police. As he had suffered injuries in the assault, he was admitted to a govt hospital. The girl’s father lodged a complaint at the Saidapet All Women Police Station, which registered a case and arrested him.
Chennai: Two men were arrested for separate incidents of sexual assault on minor girls in the city on Saturday.
