The constable was suspended in 2025 and reinstated in 2026, Kumar said. He has been taken into custody and further action is being initiated. Kumar told PTI that the constable was allegedly under the influence of alcohol when the incident occurred. He also said the personnel had a history of disciplinary issues and had been involved in several offences in the past. Police said the accused is also allegedly dealing with mental health issues.
