Upa Lokayukta Justice B Veerappa has directed all the officials to appear for a hearing on Oct 28 along with relevant documents and records. The alleged prime accused, ADLR Mohammad Hussain , remained absconding for nearly two months before being arrested in Raichur on Aug 6 and remanded in judicial custody. The action follows an investigation into an alleged fake document racket in Srirangapatna. In June, Lokayukta police arrested eight employees and a private individual linked to assistant director of land records (ADLR) office. Following the incident, district superintendent of police VG Shobharani suspended DAR constable Chandan on charges of dereliction of duty in connection with the security lapse.
During an inspection on Aug 24, a district sessions judge allegedly found him in a private room with a female friend, leading to questions over the circumstances surrounding his hospital admission and security arrangements. Hussain was allegedly admitted as an in-patient at MIMS Hospital without obtaining permission from the trial court While lodged in Mandya District Prison. He reportedly cited back pain as the reason for seeking treatment.
