Environmental experts and scientists inspect Ginigera and surrounding villages in Koppal taluk on Friday

The team, comprising Sanjeev Kulkarni, Sagaradhara and Sreekumar, visited Ginigera, Bevinahalli, Hirebaganal and nearby industrial areas housing steel and cement factories. Villagers from Ginigera and surrounding areas raised concerns over children’s health and development and sought an independent scientific study into any possible link with pollution. They claimed nearly four lakh tonnes of ash had earlier been shifted after complaints, but dumping had resumed.
