Hubballi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah , who missed the inauguration of KAHER JGMM Medical College, KLE Hospital and Medical Research Centre in Hubballi earlier on Saturday reportedly due to a health issue, made a brief visit to the newly inaugurated campus in the evening before leaving for Delhi.
Earlier reporting noted: Shah, who was scheduled to inaugurate the new academic building of KLE Jagadguru Gangadhar Mahaswamigalu Moorusavirmath Medical College and the 1,200-bed KLE Hospital and Medical Research Centre at Gabbur in Hubballi, skipped the event earlier in the day.

Shah had arrived in Hubballi late Friday night by a special flight and was received at the airport by Union minister Pralhad Joshi, MPs Jagadish Shettar and Basavaraj Bommai, BJP state president BY Vijayendra, MLAs Arvind Bellad and Mahesh Tenginakai and other party leaders. He stayed at a private hotel near the airport.

Shah was scheduled to inaugurate the KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research’s (KAHER) JGMM Medical College and Hospital near Gabbur Cross and address a gathering at 11.30am Saturday. Because of ill health, during the programme, Kore announced that Shah would not be able to participate. The programme was delayed after reports emerged that he was unwell and unable to attend. Joshi later inaugurated the medical college and hospital and addressed the gathering along with other dignitaries. There was no official statement on the nature of Shah’s illness.
