Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The South Central Railway (SCR) has announced a permanent addition of three coaches each to the Nanded-Panvel and Nanded-Hadapsar Express trains. This decision also includes the conversion of the Nanded-Mumbai Rajya Rani Express to modern LHB (Linke Hofmann Busch) coaches. These changes address a long-standing demand from passengers in the Marathwada region.

The 16-coach LHB composition will include five sleeper, four general, one AC chair car, two AC 3-tier, one AC 2-tier, one first AC and divyangjan-friendly coaches, offering safer and more comfortable travel, railway authorities said. Meanwhile, in a major enforcement action, the Nanded division conducted a mega ticket-checking drive on Sunday from 4.30am to 8pm. Under the supervision of assistant commercial manager Shailesh Kumar Singh, 28 staff checked 29 trains, detecting 669 cases of ticketless travel, irregular travel and unbooked luggage. A total fine of Rs3,45,925 was recovered from the errant travellers.
