Officials said the chief minister received the highest number of grievances related to the police during the public hearing, prompting him to take up the issue immediately. He said that if any complaint of negligence is received against a subordinate officer, disciplinary action must also be taken against them. “People who seek to spread discord in society want to turn minor incidents into major ones,” he said, directing district magistrates and police chiefs to personally monitor such situations.
Lucknow: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath again pulled up the Uttar Pradesh Police during Monday’s Janata Darshan, directing senior officers to ensure prompt redressal of complaints and warning of action in cases of negligence. Addressing the gathering, Yogi instructed police commissioners, ADGs, IGs, DIGs and SSP-level officers to regularly review and resolve public grievances in their respective districts. The chief minister also asked the administration and police to treat even minor incidents of local discord with seriousness, cautioning that small disputes can escalate into larger clashes if not addressed in time. He further instructed that eligible beneficiaries must receive welfare scheme benefits, proper arrangements be made for treatment of patients, and strict action be taken against land mafia. The chief minister also interacted with children who accompanied their parents to the public hearing.
