Ahmedabad : A Vasna resident who objected to loud music being played from a DJ truck in the locality allegedly ended up with a fractured left foot. His request to stop the music was met with abusive remarks. Four men allegedly also punched and kicked him. As he tried to flee, the group chased him and assaulted him with sticks, striking his left foot as he fell. He was rescued by people nearby and taken to Civil Hospital, his complaint states.
In his complaint filed on Monday, he alleged that an event in the locality had ended and yet, loud music continued to be played, causing a nuisance.
After calls to the control room about music blaring from a DJ truck in a residential locality of the Gulbai Tekra area, police found that no permission had been obtained to play the music. The vehicle did not have a decibel-control device either. Cops seized the vehicle and equipment including speakers, amplifiers, a generator and stabiliser, and registered a case for violation of a police notification and noise pollution control rules.
