Tom Brady gave NFL fans an unfiltered look at his FOX Sports booth personality during the Dallas Cowboys’ 37-20 win over the Washington Commanders on September 20, 2026. His NSFW comments quickly caught attention.
He said, “Absolute piss missile up the sideline. [Mike Sainristil] is still sticking in Cover 2, and CeeDee settles in that hole. [Quan Martin] can’t get over there on time. He joined the network after retiring from the NFL in 2023, working alongside play-by-play announcer Kevin Burkhardt. Brady also took a shot at Washington wide receiver Stefon Diggs during the September 20 broadcast. After Diggs celebrated a Week 1 touchdown against Philadelphia by grabbing the goalpost, the NFL fined him $14,926.
“I think he’s showing that he’s human,” Edelman said on the show. However, his former New England Patriots teammate Julian Edelman saw the lighter side. One day later, Edelman explained why Brady’s loose commentary did not bother him and instead made the seven-time Super Bowl champion sound more natural on television. “My favorite by far was the piss missile. That was a cherry on top. Little bit of a high-risk throw, but when you got arm strength like that, and you make a decisive read with a clean pocket, one little hitch into that, you can really drive it, and there was no margin of error on that throw. The reaction comes as Brady continues his third season as FOX Sports’ lead NFL analyst.
