The arrested persons are Chinelo Lilian, 36, a Nigerian national, and Philomene Chanceline, 30 from Cameroon. Kannur: Kannur City Police arrested two foreign nationals in New Delhi for manufacturing and supplying MDMA to various parts of the country, including Keralam.
Speaking at a news conference on Tuesday, Kannur range DIG K Karthik said the women were taken into custody from Burari in New Delhi as part of the investigation being carried out by a police team from Kannur in connection with the seizure of 0.6g of MDMA from a youth named Rajinas at New Mahe. The police team from Kannur stayed in Delhi for around 10 days and traced and arrested the women. Based on the information, Kerala Police contacted their Haryana counterparts. Following it, Haryana Police arrested Tabu’s associate Ashraf Ali from Gurugram with 800g of MDMA, informed the DIG. He added that the police team then arrested two youths for allegedly arranging SIM cards, fake documents and bank accounts for the drug mafia. The investigation into the network eventually led to the two foreign nationals who allegedly manufactured MDMA.
He also revealed that the drugs were being sent to Keralam from Delhi through parcels,” he said.
The team found that the youth got the drug from one Muhammed Sameel, according to the officer. Following this, they conducted a raid at the house of Sameel and recovered 185g of MDMA. “While checking his mobile phone and bank account details, the team received the details of one Tabu who allegedly functioned as an intermediary. Later, Tabu was taken into custody from Bengaluru, and he provided the information about the Delhi-based MDMA racket.
