Gandhinagar : More than 500 bikers will participate in a mega road safety rally in Gandhinagar on Thursday as part of the state govt’s ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ aimed at promoting awareness about traffic rules and safe driving practices.
Participants will ride along a 15-20km route covering key locations such as Ch-0, Rakshashakti, and Infocity before concluding the event. Similar bike rallies will be organised across Gujarat on Sept 24 as part of the statewide awareness campaign, according to a statement. GRSA commissioner Satish Patel said the campaign will encourage motorists to wear helmets and seat belts, follow speed limits, avoid using mobile phones while driving and refrain from wrong-side driving. Organised jointly by the Gujarat Road Safety Authority (GRSA) and Gandhinagar RTO, the rally will start at 9am from the Helipad Exhibition Ground near Town Hall. Personnel from Gandhinagar police, traffic brigade, home guards, State Reserve Police, forest department and fire brigade will join the rally along with members of social organisations and college students.
