A 27-year-old woman in Nagpur reported being assaulted and threatened by a man she had met at a local gym. According to police, the woman had previously blocked his phone number and chose to end their acquaintance. The incident highlights ongoing concerns about personal safety in fitness environments.

A resident of Vaishali Nagar in Panchpaoli, she met the accused at a gym and developed a friendly rapport, according to the complaint filed by the woman. Over time, the accused allegedly began behaving inappropriately, prompting the woman to end the friendship, cops said. Police said the accused punched and abused the woman.
Despite this, the man allegedly kept calling her repeatedly. He also allegedly attempted to force himself on her and threatened to kill her. The woman approached Pratap Nagar police station and lodged a complaint. Police have registered a case against the accused under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Download the TOI App.
