The judgment was delivered by ADJ-III special judge NIA Umakant Jindal in a case registered at Babupurwa police station, Kanpur Nagar, under Sections 302 and 504 of the IPC, Section 7 of the Criminal Law Amendment Act and Sections 4 and 5 of the Explosive Substances Act. The case arose from the death of 22-year-old Mohd Ahmad alias Sani, according to the court record.
Senior lawyer MK Singh said the judgment records that on the night of the incident, the victim was near a paan shop in the Begum Purwa area when Matloob Alam allegedly arrived on a motorcycle. The case was that Matloob Alam attacked him with a country-made bomb following a dispute over money.
Court Reviews Medical Evidence in Explosion Case
The court has analyzed the post-mortem findings and medical testimony related to the victim of the recent explosion. The post-mortem report detailed multiple injuries, notably a severe head injury linked to the blast.
Medical evidence presented in court supported the prosecution’s assertion that the victim’s death resulted from the injuries sustained during the explosion.
LUCKNOW: A Lucknow court on Wednesday convicted Matloob Alam alias Babu in a 2010 Kanpur Nagar murder case involving a country-made bomb and sentenced him to life imprisonment for murder, besides awarding separate jail terms under the Criminal Law Amendment Act and Explosive Substances Act. “The court examined the complainant’s account, statements of witnesses, medical evidence, forensic reports and other material collected during the investigation.
