New Delhi: A London-Delhi IndiGo flight was forced to return mid-air to London Heathrow Tuesday night due to a technical issue. The flight landed safely.
IndiGo, in a statement, said, “A technical issue was detected shortly after take-off on IndiGo flight 6E 04 operating from London to New Delhi on Sept 22.
The safety of its customers, crew, and aircraft remains its top priority at IndiGo, the airline said. Following standard operating procedures, the pilots decided to turn back and landed the aircraft safely at the London Heathrow Airport . The aircraft is currently undergoing maintenance checks and will resume operations after securing all necessary clearances. IndiGo added that it regretted the inconvenience caused to its customers and made all possible efforts to minimise it, including offering them hotel stays and accommodating them on next available flights to ensure they reach their destination.
