Nashik city police are set to deploy approximately 4,000 personnel, which includes 1,300 home guards, to ensure security during Ganapati immersions scheduled for Friday. This significant deployment aims to maintain order and safety as the city observes this important cultural event.
A senior police officer from the city police said around 2,500 police constables will be part of the bandobast along with 1,300 home guards throughout the city. Police have allotted each mandal procession 20 minutes at important chowks to ensure processions end on time, as devotees dance there en route to the river for immersion.
CCTV cameras and drones will monitor the entire route and strict action will be taken against miscreants and those who violate the guidelines, a police officer said. These personnel will ensure that idol immersions are carried out without any untoward incident as per the guidance of CP Sandeep Karnik. Apart from this, there will also be additional teams of Riot Control Police (RCP), State Reserve Police Force (SRPF), Quick Response Team (QRT), and four other squads including three Crime Detection Teams. The city police have already diverted traffic in different parts of the city to ensure that immersion processions are held on an enthusiastic note. The main immersion procession from Wakdi Barav will begin between 11am and 12noon. Police personnel will be present at every important junction to manage the crowd flow and ensure safety.
