On Wednesday, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) in Nagpur intercepted a truck in Palandur, located in the Lakhni taluka of Bhandara district. Authorities seized 25.430 kg of ganja, which was reportedly being transported from Odisha to Nagpur. Two individuals, including the truck driver, have been arrested in connection with this incident.
The suspected consignment was being transported through Bhandara towards Nagpur, according to police. Police said further action would follow after questioning the two arrested accused and establishing the wider supply chain. Police said the seizure was made on the directions of Anti-Narcotics Task Force Nagpur Superintendent of Police Ajit Tike.
The arrested accused have been identified as Ghulam Wajid Ghulam Wazir, a resident of Zingabai Takli, and Shaikh Shahbaz Shaikh Sarwar, a resident of Kapil Nagar, who was allegedly driving the vehicle. Following the interception, a case was registered at Palandur police station under NDPS Act.
