Two games into the 2026 season and Aaron Rodgers ‘ numbers with the Pittsburgh Steelers are raising real questions. The veteran quarterback has one touchdown pass, is averaging just 204 yards per game, and the team sits at 1-1 after a loss to the New England Patriots in Week 2. Pittsburgh’s offense is ranked 30th in the league at 249.5 yards per game. ESPN’s QBR, which runs on a 0-to-100 scale, grades quarterbacks on overall performance rather than raw counting stats. A score of 50 is considered league average. A score of 75 puts you in Pro Bowl territory. Rodgers currently sits at 31.6, which ranks him 30th out of 32 qualified quarterbacks in the NFL. The Steelers’ Week 1 win came against Cooper Rush and Atlanta, and even that wasn’t clean. Watt pick-six made the deciding difference in a 20-13 final. At 1-1, there’s no room to let the offense stay this flat.
Now a key ESPN metric puts Rodgers near the very bottom of all qualified starters, and it’s getting harder to explain away with context alone. A T.J. Pittsburgh’s offense didn’t really win that game. But the math is simple. He’s currently ahead of only a punter’s emergency replacement and a quarterback who couldn’t hold a starting job in camp. For a four-time MVP in what looks like his final season, that’s a hard number to sit with. Steelers fans aren’t panicking yet, but they’re watching closely.
