They claimed the state treasury had been depleted due to fiscal indiscipline, leaving the govt without funds to release pensions or undertake drought-relief measures. They claimed that, under the pretext of verifying beneficiary details, the govt had not released the monthly incentive to women beneficiaries for the past three months.
The protesters marched from Ramaswamy Circle, raising slogans of “Govinda Govinda” against the govt and accusing it of financial mismanagement. The BJP leaders also alleged that the govt had diverted funds meant for the Gruhalakshmi scheme.
