New Delhi: The Hindu College Staff Association (HCSA) Thursday passed a resolution removing principal Anju Srivastava and vice-principal Reena Jain from its membership amid an ongoing dispute over show-cause notices issued to three association members.
The association said the three were acting in their individual capacities while representing the collective mandate of the HCSA. The resolution, adopted at an emergent meeting of the association, also condemned the college governing body’s chairman for issuing show-cause notices to HCSA president Ratan Lal, secretary Shankar Kumar and faculty member PK Vijayan. HCSA further alleged that student and teacher protesters were being intimidated and resolved that it would oppose any punitive or disciplinary action against those participating in peaceful protests. The association approved legal assistance for the three members who received the notices and authorised its executive body to decide the future course of action regarding the notices and the ongoing dharna on campus. The development comes amid continuing tensions at the college following a no-confidence motion passed by the staff association against principal Srivastava.
