Passengers told police that the students often travelled on the footboard even when the bus was not crowded. They ignore warnings and become unruly whenever the bus crew objects, they said. A group of school students was hanging out from the footboard while the bus was moving. Noticing this, the conductor asked the students to move inside the bus. The students picked a fight with the conductor and began assaulting him inside the moving bus, leaving him with bleeding injuries. Some passengers tried to stop the students, but they kept attacking the conductor, causing a commotion inside the bus. One of the passengers recorded the assault on a mobile phone. The video later went viral on social media. Porur police have registered a case. They are questioning two of the students involved in the attack and are also checking the video to identify the remaining boys. Police have also informed the school administration about the incident.
