Kolkata: A woman has alleged that an ayah hired to look after her ailing mother misappropriated around Rs 10 lakh over 10 months from her parents’ Baguiati home. Cops have registered a case.
Complainant Dipa Bhattacharya Shandilya said her father withdrew Rs 15 lakh from his account over the past 10 months and she had also handed him Rs 1.7 lakh during the period. However, when she realised the household expenses and medicines would be covered within Rs 60,000, she realised the ayah had taken a chunk of the money. The accused allegedly left the house on Sept 6 citing a health issue.
