Kanpur: A 22-year-old man was allegedly bludgeoned to death by his father following a dispute over Rs 5 lakh from a recent land sale in Kanpur Dehat’s Sikandra area on Tuesday night. The accused, who had allegedly been spending proceeds from the sale on intoxicants, also injured his wife when she tried to intervene and fled the spot.
Police registered a murder case and launched raids to arrest him.
Sikandra police station in charge Sudhakar Singh said a murder case had been registered against Ramjeevan on Anand’s complaint. Anand and neighbours took Abhishek to a nearby hospital. The family informed police thereafter.
After primary treatment, he was admitted to a private hospital in Kalyanpur, Kanpur, where he died on Wednesday.
Tragic Incident Involving Family Conflict Over Money
In a tragic incident late last night, Ramjeevan Kushwaha allegedly attacked his elder son, Abhishek Kumar, after a family dispute over financial matters. Abhishek had voiced concerns about his father’s spending habits following a recent land sale that netted Rs 12 lakh. The family was reportedly worried that Ramjeevan was using the proceeds on intoxicants.
The altercation occurred around 11 pm, while the family was asleep. Reports indicate that Ramjeevan struck Abhishek multiple times on the head and face with a brick, resulting in severe injuries. Abhishek, who supports the family by driving a tractor, had intended to use the money from the land sale to build a new house for them.
