Prayagraj: Fatehpur police and its cyber cell are all set to conduct a special fortnight campaign from Sept 28 to Oct 12 in the district to expedite the return of funds to victims of cyber fraud completing the necessary legal procedures.
A special camp will operate daily at the cyber police station premises from 11 am to 3 pm for this purpose. If the held amount is less than Rs 50,000, it can be returned to the victim’s account via the MRM portal through coordination between the bank and the police, without requiring a court release order. If the held amount exceeds Rs 50,000, a court release order is mandatory.
Individuals who have fallen victim to cyber fraud and wish to verify whether any funds related to their complaint have been placed on hold may visit the cyber police station at Chandmari, Fatehpur, for information. Under this campaign, the held funds have been categorised into two groups. Experts will be available at the cyber police station to provide legal assistance and guidance in this regard, and efforts will be made to secure release orders promptly through coordination with the court. Moreover, in cases where a court release order has already been obtained, the process of reversing the held funds into the victim’s account — in coordination with the respective bank branch and manager — will be executed on a priority basis.
