Hyderabad: Meerpet police have booked a criminal case against a fitness centre owner for allegedly misbehaving with a woman cop.
The official lodged a complaint on Sept 24, alleging that the accused, Saketh, had misbehaved with her while she was performing duties as part of Ganesh immersion bandobust at Almasguda during the early hours of Sept 23. “At 3 am, some persons gathered at Almasguda Kaman in an intoxicated condition. They were dancing and disturbing public peace. I went there and asked them to leave the place as it was late in the night. One of them approached me and misbehaved with me,” the woman cop alleged.
Later, she identified the accused as Saketh, and a case was registered based on the complaint under sections 74 (Assault or use of criminal force on woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 75(2) (sexual harassment) and 132 (Assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of duty) of the BNS.
