Kanpur: Police have registered an FIR against five named and 4-5 unidentified people after three men were allegedly attacked with iron rods and sticks following a dispute over overtaking a car in Chakeri here on Friday night. On his complaint, police booked Mohit Kumar , Krishna Thakur, Saurabh Singh, Kusharg Singh alias Lala and 4-5 unidentified accused. Station in-charge Ajay Prakash Mishra said police were searching for the accused and further legal action would follow their arrest. The youths got out, abused the three men and attacked them with iron rods and sticks when they protested. Maurya and Sunil were seriously injured, while Dr Animesh was also assaulted. Sanigawan resident and property dealer Saurabh Maurya said he was travelling with Sunil Kumar and Dr Animesh Kushwaha to attend a birthday celebration when they argued with some youths over overtaking another car. The dispute initially subsided, but the accused allegedly chased them and blocked their path by positioning their car in front of Maurya’s vehicle.
The attackers then allegedly pelted the victims’ car with bricks and stones, damaging its windows and other parts, before fleeing. Maurya and Sunil were taken to hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.
