Kolkata: Following chief minister Suvendu Adhikari’s instructions to complete road repairs by Oct 10, state urban development & municipal affairs minister Agnimitra Paul on Saturday launched a project to repair and upgrade over 100 stretches across Howrah with a fund allocation of Rs 25 crore. “As per the CM’s instructions, all urban local bodies, notified area and development authorities have been directed to repair all damaged roads before Oct 10. Today, we started work to repair 100 stretches in Howrah,” the minister said.

Following CM’s announcement for repairing roads before Mahalaya, all municipal bodies were instructed to identify damaged stretches for immediate funding and execution of repair work. Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA) has been conducting road repair work in several civic body areas, including Kolkata and Bidhannagar. Download the TOI App.
