A woman attending a maintenance hearing at the Family Court in Maharajganj was reportedly assaulted and strangled on the court premises. Her husband and two other individuals are accused of the attack. Additionally, her father and sister were allegedly assaulted when they attempted to intervene in the situation.
Priya, a resident of Samardhira Chauraha under Purandarpur police station, is married to Manish Kumar Mishra, a resident of Koiladad under Brijmanganj police station, according to the complaint. She also provided police with a video clip purportedly showing the incident. Acting on the complaint, police registered an FIR and arrested her husband, Manish.
Priya had earlier lodged a case against her husband and in-laws. She has also filed a maintenance case before the Family Court in Maharajganj. The woman, identified as Priya Tripathi, submitted a complaint to Kotwali police on Friday, seeking the registration of an FIR against her husband, Manish Kumar Mishra, and two others, Prince Mishra and Satish Mishra.

She further alleged that when her father and sister tried to rescue her, the accused assaulted them as well. Priya also alleged that as the accused left, they threatened to kill her if she continued pursuing the case.
