Through initiatives such as the Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme, the country is moving towards component manufacturing. Prasada also urged private companies to build long-term industrial viability rather than rely indefinitely on state support. “Government incentives and subsidies are instruments to accelerate growth, but the long-term success of industries will depend on their own competitive capabilities.

Addressing a session titled ‘UP’s Journey from Electronics Leader to AI and Semiconductor Powerhouse’, Prasada said the state was on track to become one of the country’s key growth engines. “The day is not far when Uttar Pradesh will be prominently mentioned in discussions on investment in India and across the world,” Prasada said. Crediting coordination between the central govt under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief minister Yogi Adityanath’s administration, Prasada said the “double-engine government’s” policy implementation had accelerated the state’s industrial transformation. Prasada said the state was expanding technology investments beyond Noida to spread economic benefits and employment opportunities across other regions.

‘GCCs set to expand to Lucknow, Kanpur’ To compete with other states, Uttar Pradesh has updated its policy incentives and formally granted industry status to the IT and IT-enabled services (ITeS) sectors to encourage investment. On artificial intelligence, Prasada urged industry players and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to use AI to improve cost competitiveness and productivity, rather than adopt it as a novelty. He called for stronger partnerships between leading academic institutions such as IIT Kanpur and private industry to train young people as innovators and researchers.
