Nagpur: A 65-year-old woman died after being knocked down by an allegedly speeding and recklessly driven motorcycle while she was crossing a road in Jaripatka on Saturday evening.
The biker fled the spot without helping the injured woman, police said.
Sneha and her mother were crossing the road around 7.30pm on Sept 26 when an unidentified motorcyclist allegedly approached at high speed, according to the complaint. The deceased was identified as Indumati Khobragade, a resident of Kapil Nagar. Her daughter, Dr Sneha Khobragade, lodged a complaint with Jaripatka police. The accused, driving in a rash and dangerous manner, hit Indumati. The impact left the senior citizen with serious head injuries. Instead of stopping, the unidentified rider allegedly fled from the spot. Police have registered a case against the unidentified motorcyclist. Download the TOI App.
Indumati was rushed to a private hospital in Dhantoli, where she succumbed to her injuries during treatment.
