He urged Election Commission to deploy additional personnel for the next campaign. Chennai: DMK ’s Madurantakam candidate I Paranthamen has alleged that there were inadequate security arrangements for leader of the opposition Udhayanidhi Stalin ’s campaign in the constituency on Sunday.
He urged chief electoral officer Archana Patnaik to seek a report on the security arrangements made for Udhayanidhi during his campaign for the Oct 6 bypoll in the constituency. Paranthamen said that people had difficulty reaching campaign spots in Karunguzhi, Mamandur and Minnalsitthampur due to the improper arrangements.
Paranthamen blamed TVK govt for “shoddy security arrangements” and alleged that it was “cheap politics”. He said DMK had submitted Udhayanidhi’s campaign route map well in advance. It was done deliberately by the ruling party to create a wrong impression among the public that DMK was disrupting traffic,” he said. We did not see police anywhere along the route to regulate traffic,” he said.
“But no proper security arrangements were made during his visit when the crowd surged. “We were forced to travel in the opposite lane.
