Gautam, 23, and Sumit , 24, both residents of State Bank Colony in Dhampur, were travelling from Nagina towards Dhampur with their friends Shubham Saini, 25, and Vasu, 22. Shubham and Vasu were given first aid and later referred to Meerut due to their serious condition. Investigators said the MUV was travelling in the opposite direction, from Dhampur towards Nagina, when the collision took place. ASP AK Srivastava said, “After receiving information, a team reached the spot and pulled out the injured, who were trapped inside the vehicles. “We have sent the bodies to Bijnor for postmortem and begun investigating the circumstances that led to the accident,” the ASP added.
They were taken to the community health centre, where doctors declared Gautam and Sumit dead. Occupants of the MUV also sustained injuries and were treated before being sent to their destination in another vehicle. Sumit was the only brother of four sisters, while Gautam is survived by two brothers and a sister. Download the TOI App.
Bijnor : Two persons were killed and two others critically injured after their car went out of control, crossed the divider and collided head-on with an MUV on the Dhampur-Nagina road around midnight on Sunday, police said.
