Gorakhpur : A massive fire broke out at a turpentine oil godown in Mohanlalpur under Tiwaripur police station area of Gorakhpur around 4.30 pm on Monday.
The fire brigade and police launched a rescue operation and vacated more than 20 houses near the godown. Residents initially tried to douse the flames and informed the police and the fire department. Several fire tenders were rushed to the spot. Police and administrative officials also reached the spot. Even after around an hour, the firefighting exercise continued. Officials were also checking for anyone trapped inside the premises.
