Kochi : Kalamassery Police has sent a fresh summons to Reporter TV managing director Anto Augustine over alleged defamatory remarks against CM V D Satheesan.
The standard procedure involves issuing three notices before informing the court if a suspect repeatedly fails to appear, police said.

Meanwhile, Augustine has approached the high court to quash the FIR. The case is based on a complaint by Congress spokesperson Raju P Nair, who alleged a conspiracy behind Augustine’s recent public statements. Augustine had claimed that two individuals approached his news channel with unverified reports regarding Satheesan’s alleged second marriage, but the channel chose not to broadcast the story after failing to verify the claims. Augustine has been directed to appear before investigators at 10am on Thursday. The second notice was issued after he missed a scheduled questioning session on Monday, citing personal inconvenience.
