But BJP’s rival faction member Javed Khan claimed he was attacked as he refused to pay Sikandar Khan and his aides Rs 19 lakh to let him live in his ancestral home. The violence took place at a blood donation camp, held by BJP Minority Morcha, where objections were raised against playing ‘Vande Mataram’. The street fight turned into the storming of the Shibpur PS, where cops resorted to a baton charge to restore order. BJP functionary Masood Alam Khan and party district secretary Omprakash Singh alleged Trinamool-backed goons vandalised the camp and stormed the police station, questioning Sikandar’s arrest.
