A woman and her two daughters died after allegedly jumping into a well at Ikkalaki village

Police said the exact cause of the deaths had not been confirmed. Kalaburagi : A woman and her two daughters died after allegedly jumping into a well at Ikkalaki village in Aland taluk on Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Gaurabai Peerappa Talakeri, 52, and her daughters Ambika , 22, and Bhagyashree , 20, all residents of Ikkalaki. The family owed about Rs 2.1 lakh to Madana Hipparagi SBI branch and around Rs 4 lakh in private loans, according to the complaint.

Gaurabai’s husband, Peerappa Thalakeri, said in his police complaint that she had been worried about heavy debts and that their daughters had been suffering from mental illness. Financial distress is suspected to have led to the incident.

The complaint states that Gaurabai, who had gone to collect sheep fodder on Wednesday, was found dead in a well in Sridevi Patil’s field.
