“Intensive measures will be taken to complete the Phase II line on time,” Priyanka said after the meeting. The review covered track laying, station construction, electrical systems, lifts, escalators, signalling, telecommunications and automatic fare collection installations. Civil work on the remaining stretches will begin immediately as land acquisition on the right side of Palarivattom and Padamugal reaches completion. KMRL plans to increase non-fare revenues alongside ticket sales to boost overall financial performance. Strategies include selling semi-naming rights for stations and launching new commercial initiatives as the Phase II line opens. The management also prioritised immediate recruitment for key vacant posts within the organisation to support these developments. Beyond the main Metro line, KMRL reviewed related infrastructure projects. Construction of the Water Metro stations at Kadamakkudy and Paliyamthuruth has reached its final stage, while progress continues on the Sreekaryam Flyover project in Thiruvananthapuram.
