Movement on Jantar Mantar Road will be restricted or diverted, and motorists have been advised to use alternate routes.
NEW DELHI: Delhi Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory for October 2, warning commuters of restrictions and regulated movement around Jantar Mantar and adjoining areas. The advisory comes amid a proposed protest at Jantar Mantar against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, demanding his resignation. Security has also been tightened in the national capital ahead of the proposed protest. The traffic police has also advised the public to avoid Jantar Mantar, Parliament Street, Ashoka Road and adjoining roads wherever possible. Motorists travelling towards Connaught Place, Patel Chowk, GPO, Parliament Street and Central Delhi have been advised to plan alternate routes in advance, allow additional travel time and follow the directions of Delhi Traffic Police personnel deployed on the roads. The Delhi Traffic Police has urged motorists to remain patient, follow traffic rules and cooperate with personnel deployed in the area. Commuters have also been advised to follow diversion signs and traffic directions to avoid congestion.
