A 22-year-old man was arrested for strangling his 18-year-old former partner in Telangana’s Bhadradri Kothagudem
HYDERABAD: A 22-year-old man was arrested for allegedly strangling a BSc Nursing student in Telangana’s Bhadradri Kothagudem district, police said on Thursday. The incident took place on September 22. Police initially registered a case of suspicious death under Section 194 of the BNSS based on a complaint by her mother. Police registered the case under Section 103(1) of the BNSS.
The victim and the accused had been in a relationship for four years and planned to marry, according to the police investigation. Police said the accused allegedly killed her after she refused to marry him amid disputes between their families. The case was later converted to murder after a post-mortem examination found that the woman had been strangled with a wire. The accused fled after the killing but was later traced and arrested.
The victim 18-year-old was found dead at her house in Vangannapalem village.
