Akash Anand
Mayawati had removed Akash from BSP a few hours after his father-in-law and expelled senior party leader Ashok Siddharth announced his retirement (sanyas) from politics in a long post addressed to her on Sept 10.
Akash Anand was the national convener of BSP before he was removed from the party on Sept 10. The younger, Ishan Anand, was made the national coordinator of BSP by Mayawati on Sept 23.
Lucknow: Within a month of being removed from Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Akash Anand said that he is willing to “serve the party and the mission” under the “sole leadership” of his aunt and BSP national president Mayawati . “BSP is not just a party for me but my family,” he said. It is my responsibility to keep the interests of the party and the movement above personal and familial interests,” he said.
“Trust can only be built through work and not words. He also added in his post that Babasaheb’s mission, path shown by Kanshiram and Mayawati’s leadership were the basis of his politics. He clarified that he was neither joining nor would join any other political party. He is the elder of the two sons of Mayawati’s brother, Anand Kumar. However, Akash Anand’s apology and expression of willingness to be back in the party have left it to Mayawati whether she would take him back into the party or not. “I support your decision. Mission is bigger than relations.
I want to prove this through my behaviour and hard work,” he said in his post on X on Friday, which was addressed to his ‘bua-maa, political teacher and inspiration’ Mayawati. On Friday, Akash justified Mayawati’s decision to expel Ashok Siddharth from the party and seek his retirement from politics.
